Also, here's an idea for intermediate to advanced German speakers - MOOCs! A MOOC is a Massive Open Online Course and some are finally coming for German speakers. So, rather than study German per se, do some study in German. Kill two birds with one stone. The number of courses is currently limited, but hopefully it'll expand. I'm thinking of refreshing statistics through the medium of German and if I do I'll keep you posted. If there's no course currently which interests you, keep checking back.
